We decided to go an extra 156 miles out of our way so we could eat at our two favorite Mexican restaurants in Texas. We stopped in San Antonio in 2002 and really enjoyed the sights and food. So here we are again.

Mi Tierra Cafe & Bakery Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Texas Mom said I act like a mountain goat while hiking, now I’m eating one!

Where else but in a Mexican restaurant/bar will you find a statue of Saint Francis?

Many of the walls in the restaurant have life size murals.

We also enjoy walking on the “River Walk.”

A trip to San Antonio is not complete without a walk passed the Alamo.

The Buckhorn Saloon This is one of four large walls with mountings.

Pico De Gallo Our second favorite Mexican restaurant. Like most Mexican restaurants, they have roving mariachi bands.

Alamo KOA swimming pool. Soaking up the last rays before heading north. This was our last swim and tanning for 2006.
